The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum will clean and vacuum your floors without having to be involved. It also leaves them spotless. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as a dirt detectors) are both positives.

Be sure to regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large debris and clean them as needed. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers in terms of deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy units of the rivals. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit costly, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

robot vacuums reviews  has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with how dirty they tend to be.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd think from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have tested. It also comes with an app that's less intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
